The Association des garderies privées du Québec (AGPQ) is the association representing Québec’s private daycare centres.

Objectives and mandates:

  • To promote, foster, develop and improve the quality of educational childcare services for children and parents in Québec.
  • To offer parents free choice and ensure that the sustainability of the network in all regions of Québec.
  • To ensure equity within the Québec childcare system.
  • To protect, defend and represent members’ interests as well as to provide an active presence before authorities at the regional, provincial, national and international levels.
  • To inform members of proposed recommendations and to promote them before government authorities and the partner organizations concerned.
  • To promote the proficiency and development of daycare staff by arranging special events and a professional development program.
  • To foster the constant improvement of educational interventions by daycare staff working with children.
  • To oversee the daily upgrade of the quality of services and working conditions for the 8,000 educators and 42,000 children of the network as well as the improvement of the quality of life of the parents involved.
